The mission of community-led education is gaining a powerful new platform.
We are proud to announce that NABML Board Chair, Alissa Jacques Saint-Pierre, has been selected for the 2026 50CAN National Voices Fellowship.
In the world of education advocacy, 50CAN is a powerhouse known for identifying the country’s most impactful leaders and providing them with the tools to shape national policy and media narratives. Out of hundreds of applicants nationwide, Alissa was selected as one of only eleven leaders to join this year’s cohort.
Why This Matters for the Movement
This fellowship is more than a personal honor; it is a strategic win for the National Association of Black Microschool Leaders. For too long, the stories of Black educational innovation have been told by outsiders. By joining this circle of national advocates, Alissa is ensuring that our founders’ voices are heard in the rooms where the future of American education is decided.
From Alissa
“I am honored to be included in the 50CAN National Voices cohort. Our movement is about more than just building schools; it’s about reclaiming the narrative of Black educational excellence.”
