The Founder Launch Lab is built on the principle of Venture Philanthropy: we invest in leaders who are ready to build the future of education.
$30,000. This represents the full suite of NABML’s intellectual capital, operational templates, legal "plumbing," and direct executive coaching from national experts.
Through our Venture Philanthropy partners, NABML provides a significant subsidy for every accepted founder to bridge the gap between vision and reality.
$2,500. This "skin in the game" ensures a mutual commitment to excellence and covers the essential administrative costs of your specialized cohort.
NABML is built on Reciprocal Growth. We build a permanent cycle of opportunity where today’s success funds tomorrow’s innovation.
We deploy $30,000 in intellectual and operational capital to ensure every school opens on a foundation of excellence.
Once operational and collecting tuition, founders commit 2.5% of gross revenue back to the NABML. This ensures the support system remains manageable and tied directly to the school’s success.
Once the initial $30,000 value is recovered, the pledge ends. The school remains a permanent NABML partner with 100% revenue retention.
Recovered capital is immediately redeployed to seed the next community leader, ensuring our movement remains independent and self-sustaining.
I knew exactly what kind of school I wanted to build for my students, but the legal and fiscal 'plumbing' felt like a wall I couldn't climb. NABML didn't just give me a checklist; they gave me a foundation. Having $30,000 worth of operational expertise at my fingertips meant I could stop worrying about compliance and start focusing on my community’s brilliance.
Absolutely. In fact, most of our strongest founders start exactly where you are. We designed the Lab to handle the "business plumbing"—legal structures, zoning, and fiscal stewardship—so you can focus on your pedagogical brilliance. We don't just teach you the business; we give you the templates and tools to run it.
We know you’re likely balancing a job, a family, or an existing classroom. The Lab is designed for high-impact efficiency, requiring about 10 hours per week. This includes our collaborative cohort sessions and "Action Hours" where you apply what you’ve learned directly to your school’s launch plan.
This isn't just a tuition price—it’s the cost of the specialized services we provide. It includes direct executive coaching, customized legal and tax filings, proprietary operational templates, branding and marketing assets, and access to our exclusive "Founder’s Toolkit" of back-office software and systems.
No. Finding a space is one of the most significant hurdles for founders, and it’s a core part of the Launch Lab curriculum. We help you navigate "Institutional Ownership"—from identifying underutilized community spaces to understanding zoning laws and facility acquisition.
Financial barriers should never stand in the way of community brilliance. If the $2,500 tuition is a hurdle for your current budget, we have built-in "Village Paths" to ensure every accepted founder can take their seat in the Lab:
The Sponsorship Path: We maintain a pool of scholarship funds provided by our Venture Philanthropy partners specifically for founders serving high-impact or under-resourced neighborhoods.
The Milestone Plan: We offer flexible, interest-free payment schedules that allow you to distribute the tuition cost over the duration of the Lab as you hit your fundraising and enrollment milestones.
The "Pay-It-Forward" Fellowship: For a limited number of founders each year, we offer tuition waivers in exchange for a commitment to serve as a Peer Mentor for future cohorts once your school is successfully operational.
The Lab is just the beginning. Graduates of the Launch Lab automatically transition into NABML Membership, giving you ongoing access to our national network, advocacy support, and the NABML Ops back-office engine. We stay in the village with you until your school is fully sustainable and ready for National Certification.
The next Founder Launch Lab cohort begins September 2026. Join the waitlist to receive the application link 24 hours before the general public and to receive our “Founder Readiness” newsletter.
