Empowering Black Educators, Transforming Communities
At NABML, we are dedicated to revolutionizing education for Black communities by uniting the visionary leaders behind Black-founded microschools. Our mission is to amplify the voices of these trailblazers, equipping them with the tools, partnerships, and advocacy they need to create innovative, effective and culturally responsive learning environments for our children.
National Association of Black Microschool Leaders
Who We Are
NABML is the nation’s leading organization dedicated to supporting Black educators in launching, growing, and sustaining microschools. We believe in the power of small, community-based education to provide the individualized attention, flexibility, and culturally relevant learning that traditional public schools often lack.
What We Do
We are a movement of change-makers. Through research, policy advocacy, and community collaboration, we strive to increase access to high-quality microschools in Black communities. We help Black founders grow their schools by providing:
- Research & Data: Groundbreaking research highlighting the impact of microschools on Black student success.
- Partnerships & Resources: Access to curriculum, professional development, and operational support to build and sustain effective microschools.
- Legislative Advocacy: A powerful voice at the state and national levels, fighting for policies that uplift and protect Black-founded microschools.
- Awareness Campaigns: Shining a light on the educational crisis in Black communities and promoting microschools as a solution.
